Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk cold
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder whey or plant-based
  • 1 medium apple cored and chopped
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt full-fat or low-fat
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats quick-cooking or old-fashioned
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon plus extra for garnish
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg optional
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract pure
  • 1 cup ice cubes adjust for thickness

Notes

For best results, use a ripe, sweet apple like Honeycrisp or Fuji. The smoothie can be made ahead and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours, though it's best fresh. To make it vegan, use plant-based protein powder and replace Greek yogurt with coconut yogurt. For extra nutrition, add a handful of spinach (the cinnamon masks the flavor).
