Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 large Melrose apple cored and chopped, skin left on for fiber
  • 1.5 cups frozen strawberries whole or sliced
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk or any preferred plant-based milk
  • 0.5 cup Greek yogurt plain or vanilla flavored
  • 1 tbsp honey optional, adjust to taste
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract for aromatic depth
  • 1 tsp ground flaxseed for added Omega-3s
  • 0.5 cup ice cubes only if using fresh fruit instead of frozen

Notes

For a vegan version, substitute Greek yogurt with coconut yogurt and use maple syrup instead of honey. This smoothie is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight mason jar for up to 12 hours; shake well before drinking as natural separation may occur. You can prep the apple and strawberries in freezer bags for a quick 'dump-and-blend' morning routine.
