  • 1 medium ripe avocado pitted and peeled
  • 2 tsp ceremonial grade matcha powder sifted to remove clumps
  • 1 large frozen banana sliced before freezing for easier blending
  • 1 cup baby spinach tightly packed
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup adjust to taste
  • 0.5 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup ice cubes optional for extra frostiness

Notes

For the best flavor, use ceremonial grade matcha which is less bitter than culinary grade. To make this ahead, blend all ingredients except ice and store in an airtight mason jar for up to 24 hours; shake well before drinking as natural separation may occur. For a protein boost, add 1 scoop of vanilla plant-based protein powder.
