  • 2 tbsp gyokuro green tea leaves high-quality, shade-grown
  • 1 cup filtered water heated to 140°F/60°C
  • 1 cup whole milk or plant-based alternative
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract optional

Notes

For the best flavor, use only high-quality gyokuro leaves. The tea can be steeped twice more with slightly hotter water (160°F/71°C) for 30 seconds each time. Store leftover tea leaves in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. For a cold version, steep the tea as directed, cool completely, then pour over ice with cold milk.
