Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 2 medium Bramley apples peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1 inch fresh ginger root peeled and finely grated
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt plain, unsweetened
  • 0.5 cup apple juice unsweetened, chilled
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup to taste
  • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon plus extra for garnish
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1 tbsp flax seeds optional for added fiber

Notes

Bramley apples are quite tart; if you prefer a sweeter drink, substitute one Bramley for a Gala or Fuji apple. To make this vegan, use coconut yogurt and maple syrup. This smoothie is best enjoyed immediately but can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 12 hours—just shake well before drinking.
